Who’s
Land Is It?
Lev 25:23
The land shall not be sold for ever: for the land
is mine; for ye are strangers and sojourners with
me.
Lev 25:1-2
And the LORD spake unto Moses in mount Sinai, saying,
Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them,
When ye come into the land which I give you, then shall
the land keep a sabbath unto the LORD.
At least 60 times in the Covenant Book
of Deuteronomy God speaks to the young nation of Jews
to go in and posses The Land that God has given to them!
God’s covenant with the Jews is
predicated upon "The Land.” The sign of the
Promise is The Land! God has given The Land as a sign
of His promise to Abraham.
The Land is so important that God’s
promise fails if The Land isn’t in the hands of
the Jews!
1 Kings 8:56
Blessed be the LORD, that hath given rest unto his people
Israel, according to all that he promised: there hath
not failed one word of all his good promise, which he
promised by the hand of Moses his servant.
Gen 12:7
And the LORD appeared unto Abram, and said, Unto thy seed
will I give this land: and there builded he an altar unto
the LORD, who appeared unto him.
Gen 15:7
And he said unto him, I am the LORD that brought thee
out of Ur of the Chaldees, to give thee this land to
inherit it.
Gen 15:18
In the same day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying,
Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of
Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates:
Gen 26:3
Sojourn in this land, and I will be with thee, and
will bless thee; for unto thee, and unto thy seed,
I will give all these countries, and I will perform
the oath which I sware unto Abraham thy father;
Gen 28:15
And, behold, I am with thee, and will keep thee in
all places whither thou goest, and will bring thee
again into this land; for I will not leave thee, until
I have done that which I have spoken to thee of.
Moses prayed unto the Lord God and said;
Ex 32:13
Remember Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, thy servants,
to whom thou swarest by thine own self, and saidst
unto them, I will multiply your seed as the stars of
heaven, and all this land that I have spoken of will
I give unto your seed, and they shall inherit it for
ever.
The total promised Land Border: Numbers 34:1-13
God said the Jews would be dispersed
for a time.
Ezekiel said the Jews would be dispersed
into all the nations and The Land would be desolate.
-
The worldwide dispersion
began in the year A.D. 70 when the Temple was destroyed.
-
No one knew at that
time how long the destruction would last.
-
In 136, the Roman
army crushed a second revolt. This time Jerusalem was
totally destroyed, at least a half a million Jews were
killed, and the rest were sold into slavery. Rome changed
the name of the area to Philestina.
This is where the modern name Palestine
originated. The land of Palestine has always referred
to the Jews! The warning and discipline of God was fulfilled.
The Nation was destroyed and the Jews were scattered into
all the world.
The destruction of the Nation remained for century after
century with no end in sight. Empire after empire ruled
the area, but there was always a small remnant of Jews
living on The Land and especially in Jerusalem.
